From the Preface of the King James Bible 1769:

The Bible is about our own simple and natural spiritual discovery; on the surface it appears as stories, seemingly outside of you. Without discernment most of it sounds foolish.

"Men" can also be a pointer to our own rambling thoughts:

Jesus invited a little child to stand among them. “Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.…

Matthew 18:3

Did you ever consider the "kingdom" simply as your natural state? Being yourself, not intimidated by the whispers of thoughts and feelings, free of suffering: happiness in practical daily life, independent of circumstances.





Maybe I have lost you already?

Our mind can be unbelievably stubborn. Lots of subtle resistance can come up when we start examining and testing what we believe. The separate-self tends to defend familiarity instead to embrace freedom.

We can easily be intimidated by fears and doubts, maybe our whole life, without ever discovering where we miss the mark.

Very late in life did I discover the beauty and significance of scriptures. "Truth is an activity in our own Consciousness"... Paradoxically it requires some self-directed thinking to bypass the psychological limitations of thinking. What do you think (-;
